My name is Destiny, and I aged out of the foster system. I didn't know where to go from one system to another. I was not ready to be an adult and felt I was being pushed. By God's grace I had a mentor who uplifted me and helped me become a better me. I did not want to go to school or anything, until my mentor explained the importance of an education and caring for my personal mental health. I believe that you don't need a lot of people in your life to feel loved but just one someone to believe in you. Ms. Camille pushed me to fulfill my potential and she is still doing it. Over 10 years since I met her, I have been in school and have learned a lot about life and making choices. I have no children, no boyfriends, but focusing on my relationship with God and continuing to improve me as a person. I know if I can make it like so few of us have, others can too, they just need a hand.
